For the course Professional Experience, I collaborated with a Librarian at the University of Saskatchewan to develop a resource that identifies Canadian BIPOC composers and their publishers, to be used as a tool and collecting guide for librarians looking to diversify collections of notated music.
I held the position of co-Student Representative for one term with BCALS. Student Representatives liaise with library education programs in BC, raising awareness of BCALS events and issues. In coordination with the rest of the Executive, they are primarily responsible for the BCALS social media accounts and activity.
I hold a leadership position with MLStEP (the Music Library Student and Emerging Professionals Interest Group of the Music Library Association) as Pacific Northwest Chapter Liaison. In this professional association work, I work collaboratively with other MLStEP officers to grow the interest group and improve its impact and inclusivity, liaise with the regional MLStEP members and MLA chapter, and build connections with the regional GLAM and performing arts communities.
As Tour Coordinator for UBC’s Special Libraries Association Student Chapter, I am in charge of researching libraries, contacting potential tour hosts, setting up tour dates, communicating this information to club members, and more.
